Ministry at All Nations

Prayer

We take prayer seriously – in keeping with our theme text over the past 30 years – to be a “house of prayer for all people”. We have taken a key role in interdenominational prayer and prophetic events, interceding for city and nation. As a congregation we have undertaken half-nights of prayer, prayer walks, recently instituted a 24 hour prayer chain and, most importantly, we have a regular corporate hour of prayer on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm and pray especially for the nations. We see in the church in Acts that they waited in prayer on the promise of the Father as Jesus had commanded – any desire for a move of God in building church needs to be birthed and sustained in prayer. We also have a pre-service prayer meeting at 8:30 on Sunday mornings.

Children

Children’s Church is offered during the 10:30am Sunday service to children aged 2 to 16. The purpose is to minister the truth of Jesus Christ to their hearts, and to teach them biblical principles.

The team of teachers are screened by the elders, ensuring that they reflect a life filled with Jesus and biblical living.

Youth

The current All Nations youth group is a fun-filled time for 10-16 year olds, led by a team of more than 6, coordinated by Janko and Odette Barkhuizen.

John 14:23-24 states that our Father seeks those who will worship him in spirit and truth – that includes the youth. Our young people have been growing both spiritually and physically – God is challenging our attitudes and comfort zones and he will only use us if we have the right heart. Contact Odette or Janko via the church office to find out more on the activities of the youth group.

Outreach

We believe we are a church of all nations for all nations and need to take the church outside of its ‘four walls’.

For many years we as a church have undertaken regular trips to the north of Namibia and, in conjunction with the local fellowship in Oshakati, have assisted in erecting various buildings and preached at various preaching points in Ovamboland over the years.

We also support various projects and have ministered at the Osire refugee camp, and conducted trips to a needy settlement at Groot Aub in central Namibia, and regularly visit the Windhoek Central Prison and Katutura hospital. We deliver food to those who are destitute in squatter camps and assist various ministries in the capital.

In line with our vision and wanting Namibians to be a blessing to those who had brought the gospel from Europe, teams from our church undertake outreach trips to Germany, to encourage Christians in relating churches and to do street ministry in Lünen in West Germany and Brandenburg, Güstrow and Bautzen in former East Germany.

We have been on several outreach trips to Namibia`s northern neighbour, Angola, during the past few years.

Many more outreaches are planned in 2011/2.

Home Groups

The model of the early church meeting “from house to house” is one of the key elements of the local church. Home groups are the place to develop the priesthood of all believers so that everyone can grow to fulfill the purposes of God. Home cells are a place to build friendship and fellowship and provide nurturing for the people of God and equipping for evangelism. We have several vibrant groups that meet in various areas in Windhoek and we have had a multiplication of these groups in 2010 – trusting for more in 2011. Contact the church office to find out where a home cell meets in your area.
